After serving a mechanical engineering apprenticeship, I spent twelve years in the automotive industry as a mechanical and production engineer. I left industry to embark upon a teaching career in Design, Technology, Engineering and Technical Graphics. As soon as I left industry, I set up an engineering consultancy and continued with this along side my teaching commitments. I have been fortunate enough to work on a wide range of cutting edge projects in the automotive industry (mechanical engineering), industrial design (designing and testing), renewables (design and fabrication) as well as a range of other bespoke products. As well as acting as an application and design engineer, I have been instrumental in supporting many SME's with the introduction of CAD and CAM systems, including installation and training.
